Job description

Who we are

Open Government Products (OGP) operates like a startup within the Singapore Government. We are a team that builds a range of tech for public good - from citizen apps to tools that automate government agency workflows. We work in a flat hierarchy, moving from idea to production without unnecessary overhead.

About the role

We are looking for an Executive to function as maternity cover on a 12-month contract for our People Operations and Analytics team to own end-to-end HR operations. Reporting to the Head of People Operations & Analytics, you will be the primary operational point of contact for OGP's staff and the go-to person for employees and internal stakeholders on people operations matters. This role suits someone who finds equal satisfaction in precise execution and improving the systems behind it.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end employee lifecycle operations across OGP's 250 staff

    • Arrange for work pass applications, renewals, issuance, and cancellations

    • Maintain data integrity across people systems (BambooHR, Google Workspace) and coordination with our external payroll provider

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for people operations queries

    • Provide clear, timely guidance to employees on HR processes and policies

    • Partner with the rest of the People Team to ensure continuity in delivery and a seamless employee experience

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying workflow gaps, streamlining processes, and using tools like Notion, Zapier, and Claude to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy

What we are looking for

  • 2–4 years of experience in HR or People Operations with full employee lifecycle exposure

    • Hands-on with people systems and tooling; picks up new tools quickly

    • Exercises discretion when handling confidential people data

  • Detail-oriented and independent; able to prioritise and execute time-sensitive tasks with minimal guidance, and accurate in data and compliance work

  • Comfortable with a 12-month fixed-term role.

Good to have

  • Prior experience with automation tools (e.g. Zapier) or an interest in people analytics and process improvement

  • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate day-to-day work

Working at OGP

  • Ownership and autonomy - Beyond technical tasks, this means having autonomy to voice opinions and suggest future directions. Building what you believe in drives the creation of great solutions.

  • Rapid prototyping - We fail-fast to accelerate innovation. This means prioritising testing ideas over debating them to identify problems quickly and convey possibilities to others.

  • Flexibility - We offer flexible work arrangements that work for our teams to foster a productive and supportive environment.

  • Continuous learning - We drive professional growth by exploring new architectures, frameworks, and technologies with dedicated yearly learning months and hackathons. Continuous learning is essential as we tackle innovative ideas and challenges.

  • Mission-driven - Our work is dedicated to the public good to improve the lives of Singapore citizens. We focus on creating impactful solutions that enhance the community and this country we call home.

Projects we have worked on include:

  • Parking.sg - A mobile app alternative to parking coupons. It lets users pay, extend, and refund their parking sessions just using their phones.

  • FormSG - A form builder tool for agencies to self-service and create online forms that capture classified data, with the goal of replacing paper forms.

  • RedeemSG - RedeemSG helps the Singapore Government to create, send and track redemptions of digital vouchers (CDC, Climate) easily.
