Product Operations Manager

  • On-site
    • Singapore, Central Singapore, Singapore
  • Product Operations

Job description

Who we are

Open Government Products (OGP) operates like a startup within the government; We are a fast-paced, dynamic team of engineers, designers, and product managers dedicated to public good. We autonomously identify opportunities to solve public problems using tech, rapidly prototype, and launch solutions—from citizen apps to automating public agency operations. Embracing an open-sourced and flat hierarchy, we cut through bureaucracy to focus on real-world, user-centric innovations that drive change.

The role

The Product Operations team drives digital product success and scales product growth and impact. We do so through streamlining and scaling product support, promoting product adoption, gathering and synthesising user insights, and driving operational efficiency.

As a Product Operations Manager, you are responsible for the Product Operations teams in a product division. You will ensure that work is sustainable, impactful, and offers growth opportunities. In addition, you will contribute to the overall development of the Product Operations function. This includes codifying and propagating best practices, and raising standards for the function.

Concretely, you are expected to:

  • Set high standards for the team by demonstrating systematic, scalable approaches.

  • Guide and coach reports to execute effectively, ensuring product deliverables and outcomes are achieved.

  • Codify and propagate best practices across the team, raising execution quality and building sustainable capability.

  • Act as a force multiplier by creating clarity amidst ambiguity, embedding scalable processes, and empowering the team to deliver with confidence.

  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of the product life cycle and the role of Product Operations at each stage, from early testing to scaling and ongoing optimisation.

  • Translate life cycle expertise into frameworks and coaching that enable the team to adapt and deliver effectively across different product maturity phases.

  • Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics by identifying underlying priorities and agendas, and translating them into clear product and operational considerations.

  • Balance and align competing interests with product goals, ensuring stakeholder concerns are addressed while maintaining focus on priorities.

This role is based in Singapore. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.

What we’re looking for

We look for people who:

  • Have demonstrated success in building systematic, scalable operations in a dynamic environment - Prior work and personal projects count for much more than specific degrees.

  • Are passionate to guide and coach high-performing product operations specialists in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

  • Have strong communication skills and experience working in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.

  • Take initiative to make things happen - Our job is to push for change in government, so we need to challenge the status quo and not wait for instruction.

  • Want to work for the public good - We are public servants, we serve the public. This sometimes means ignoring political pressures and misguided policies. We need people who will push back if something is not in the public interest.

Overall, we seek individuals who bring not only the ability, initiative, and strong communication skills needed to excel in this role but also a genuine commitment to public good and making a positive impact on the community.
