Who we are
Open Government Products is a team of engineers, designers, and product managers who build technology for public good. We identify problem spaces where technology can help, test prototypes with real users, then bring the best ones to launch. We keep our hierarchy flat so we can push past bureaucracy to focus on delivery. With 70% of our initiatives starting from the ground up, you will have real ownership over products that shape how citizens interact with their government. About the Role
Rooster is a healthcare messaging system that routes critical test result alerts to the right clinician at the right time, based on staff schedules, specialties, and hospital-configured routing rules. It is live across 8 public health institutions. You would contribute to Rooster’s end-to-end experience, taking increasing ownership as yaou grow. The design work spans how clinicians receive and respond to alerts, how hospitals configure routing rules and escalation logic, and how clinical coordinators monitor active alerts across their teams. You do not need healthcare experience, but you need genuine curiosity about how clinical workflows operate.
Responsibilities
Deliver strong craft within scoped problem areas.
You will produce clear interaction design, solid information hierarchy, and thoughtful component states in implementation-ready work.
Learn the service around your screen.
Rooster involves multi-actor workflows, routing logic, and escalation paths. You will develop a growing understanding of how your piece connects to the broader system.
Improve the experience through research.
You will conduct research with clinicians and hospital staff to understand how they interact with the product in practice, and design improvements grounded in real usage patterns.
Design for information density.
Clinical coordinators and hospital administrators work with dense operational data. You will develop growing skill in making that data easy to scan and act on.
Design within constraints you did not set.
You will work alongside hospital systems, scheduling tools, and clinical platforms that are fixed. These are design inputs from day one.
Prototype early and test often.
Get ideas in front of clinicians, lab staff, and clinical coordinators quickly.
Minimum Qualifications
A portfolio demonstrating solid craft, clear design reasoning, and evidence of shipping products to production.
Hands-on experience running user research and usability testing.
Comfort working within constraints and treating them as design inputs.
Curiosity about complex systems and how services work end to end.
High proficiency in Figma.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing for information-dense environments (dashboards, list views, alert systems).
Experience designing configuration or admin tools where setup errors have operational consequences.
Active use of modern prototyping tools (Lovable, Cursor, or similar) to bring ideas to life earlier.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, or front-end development concepts.
Prior exposure to healthcare, clinical systems, or regulated industries.
Working at OGP
Ownership and Autonomy — Beyond technical tasks, this means having autonomy to voice opinions and suggest future directions. Building what you believe in drives the creation of great solutions.
Rapid Prototyping — We prioritise testing ideas over debating them, allowing us to identify problems quickly and convey possibilities to others. This fail-fast approach accelerates innovation.
Flexibility — We provide flexible work arrangements based on what works best for our team and its members, fostering a productive and supportive environment.
Continuous Learning — Drive professional growth by exploring new architectures, frameworks, and technologies. With dedicated yearly learning months and hackathons, continuous learning is essential as we tackle innovative ideas and challenges.
Mission-Driven — Our work is dedicated to the public good, aiming to improve the lives of Singapore citizens. We focus on creating impactful solutions that enhance the community and the place we call home.
Projects OGP has worked on include:
Bright - Bright is a referral platform for intermediate to long-term care services. Healthcare workers and coordinators can find, refer, and track clients to ILTC services such as nursing homes and daycare centres, while service providers manage their referrals and availabilities.
Care360 - Care360 is a patient management system that helps Medical Social Workers manage their patients' financial and psychosocial care, reducing manual work and providing access to holistic data across institutions.
Health Appointment System (HAS) - HAS is the national booking system for preventive care at CHAS GP clinics, where citizens check eligibility, see subsidy costs upfront, and book vaccinations and screenings.
Referral Exchange - Referral Exchange digitises healthcare referrals across providers as part of the National Referrals Programme led by MOH, guiding staff through referral creation and tracking across healthcare systems.
Rooster - Rooster is a healthcare messaging system that automatically sends critical result alerts to the right clinician at the right time, based on staff schedules and medical specialties.
Scribe - Scribe is a transcription and summarisation tool that transforms conversations into structured summaries, so practitioners can focus on staying present with clients instead of documentation.
Social360 - Social360 is a practitioner-centric case management system designed to maximise social workers' time with clients by streamlining key tasks and removing administrative overhead.
