The Team
You will be joining the Traffic Enforcement and Licensing System (TEALS) team, where your work will impact millions of Singaporeans on a daily basis who drive, ride, and walk on our roadways. We are building a new system to to be used by the Traffic Police to manage Singapore’s driving licenses, incidents, and enforcement workflows nationwide. With traffic deaths and injuries at a five-year high, our goal is to build a system that can help keep Singapore’s roads safe for all citizens.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer on TEALS, you’ll help shape and build a critical national platform from the ground up — influencing its architecture, reliability, and security. Your work will affect systems that touch millions of road users, enforcement officers, and partner agencies every day.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, high-quality software across the tech stack and write production-ready code.
Collaborate cross-functionally and provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
Identify and prioritise initiatives that maximise the security and efficiency of our products.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Deep technical expertise in modern web/cloud technologies (TypeScript, React, AWS, API-first design) and experience with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), including CI/CD processes, Git, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and deploying applications to cloud environments.
Experience working in startups or fast-paced and agile environments
Experience owning complex technical work with minimal supervision. Good to have: Experience in guiding and mentoring software engineers
Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and external stakeholder engagement.
A passion for building software that serves people and improves public services.

Projects OGP has worked on include:
ScamShield — iOS and Android mobile apps, enhanced in August 2024, help users check and report suspicious communications. The apps automatically filter known scams using an AI-powered machine learning classifier. An Admin Dashboard also allows police to verify reported scams.
RedeemSG — Helps the Singapore Government to create, send and track redemptions of digital vouchers easily.
data.gov.sg — An open repository of all the Singapore Government's public data. It helps people understand the data using visualizations and articles, and provides real-time APIs for developers to use.
ActiveSG - A platform for the public to book sports facilities, join fitness programmes, and access gym and swimming facilities.
